Laughing Buddha Home is hidden away in a small crowded cul de sac on the northern edge of the Thamel district. The area is crammed with shops and businesses and even taxi and ricksaw wallahs had trouble finding LBH. so I recommend you get a good map from the outset. When you have found your bearings its very convenient for all the sights and services a traveller could need. LBH is more like a homestay than a hotel (except its checkout at midday and anytime spent before will be charged at a full days rate!) It's a family run business with some of the nicest people you will meet: Auntie, Depu and Bidhya. The next great thing about LBH, was my very airy, clean and comfortable room with the 24hr hot shower - which were most welcome after India. There was an option of breakfast for an extra 100NPRS per day which I partook but after 2 days: 1 egg, dry sliced bread, butter and jam with tea became boring. LBH was very quiet and traveller's services limited to advice from Bidhya. I did not meet any other guests whilst I was there. Besides this a very enjoyable stay. More visitors please ( :
