Very friendly owner and employees who let me check in inside the middle of the night as my flight was delayed. Excellent location near to all of the principal points of interest of the city, but still really silent during the night (in the 4-bed-room). Spacious and gorgeous common room with kitchen.

Hot showers, wonderful location (walking distance to everything), the owner was super friendly, and full kitchen. We were the only travelers for most of our stay and it felt like we had our own apartment right inside the city center.

This hostel was in a excellent place for the price! It was inside walking distance to everywhere that one would need to go inside the city. It&'s in a lovely portion of the town not too far from the Port itself or the city center. The building has a lot of character, and as Alexandre, the hostel owner, explained, it is about 300 years old and has been renovated. We stayed inside the private double ensuite and although small, it had enough space and stayed warm with the space heater that was provided. There were other visitors staying inside the shared rooms on the other side of the hostel, but it stayed quiet during the night and we felt extremely comfortable. We didn&'t utilize the cooking area as we were only there for a weekend, but it was extremely well equipped. Alexandre was nice enough to come let us in when we arrived and let us check in early. He also gave us advice about what we were interested in seeing and doing inside the city. I definitely recommend staying here!

This hostel was excellent. I just nonetheless can not believe how this hostel kept the price so low with superb quality of accommodation. I am not kidding. You can actually walk to everywhere well-known from this hostel. Furthermore, it&'s perfectly safe.

It&'s really cool and cozy! It&'s really nice and small hostel. So if you prefer cheap accomodation with massive privacy, it&'s fully greatest choice! The property owner is really sympathetic and willing. We really enjoy it!

Very well located. Really clean and modern. It is the top spot, with many nice restaurants just around the corner. The property owner of the appartment are very useful and friendly. Amazing value for money.

We were agroup of 3 girls and booked a couple of nights only because we were going to visit other areas in Portugal. We came back to Porto for our last night before going back to ENgland. We really wanted to stay at Casa dos Taipas again but it was already booked. It was the perfect place for us - locationwise and spacewise as well. There is a comfy living room area with a computer and internet access, which is very helpfull! The kitchen is fully equipped as well so we could have cooked if we weren't too keen on walking around the entire city! It was also very clean and with comfortable beds. AND we were welcomed in the city by Alexandre (the owner of the place who offered to pick us up at the airport) and he kindly told us about places to visit in Porto, Matosinhos, Vila Nova de Gai, etc. Overall, a very good place to stay and with good value for money.

The property was far better than what I imagined from the pictures (Very spacious, birght and clean). It even included a computer with no cost Wireless access which was not included inside the description. Also, Alexandre the property manager is very kind and accomodating. He even offered to pick us up from the airport at no additional cost.
