The cheapest priced singleroom I could find in NY Area. The room had a great size and I liked, that the temperature there was 30 Celcius in there, even when I turned the heat of.

Bed sheets were clean and also the spot was ok for a few days. The price was fine considering the restricted amenities. Its closeness to the Norwood subway station, a few blocks away, which goes straight to lower Manhattan is a plus. You must plan one hour to reach Grand Central (42nd St and 5th Ave) from the North Brooklin YMCA.

The hostel has some excellent facilities as there are a pool and a gym you can use for free. You also have free internet connection, but the computer room is not open at any time. The personnel is really warm and friendly and also the rooms are great. In a couple of weeks there should be digital TV in each room. But keep in mind the neighborhhod is not the most secure and it takes up to 60 mins to get to Midtown by subway. The excellent things is that your stay will help the YMCA to take care of the Brooklyn kids in need.
