The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They informed us of each and every aspect that we would need to know during our stay ie local transport, free activities. This was my first encounter in a hostel and it felt like a home away from home. I was impressed with the kitchen and laundry washing facilities as access to these facilities saved us a excellent quantity of money. The location was great. Everything was within walking distance as well as the hostel was situated near to everything but on a quiet street so it was straightforward to get a excellent nights sleep. Very impressed by my stay at the Palms Backpackers

This backpackers is fantastic if you&'re in Sydney and desire to do points the cheap way. No cost airport pick up is offered and the hostel provides free tea and coffee throughout the day and free breakfast in the morning (usually just before 10ish). There is certainly also a huge kitchen so you are able to cook your own food, with a market just around the corner and there are washing services. The employees are very helpful and ready to answer any inquiries you have and give advice on what to do in the area. A lot of points are in walking distance such as: the botanic gardens, the harbour and Sydney Opera house. Visiting these locations is a very nice walk from the hostel. Its also effortless to walk in to town for shopping. There is certainly a free bus during the day and the hostel is near to the train station. It is also possible to get lifts to Bondi beach which is also a very nice day out. The long stay visitors in the hostel were generally very welcoming and there is certainly plenty of opportunity to all go out together. The hostel sometimes arranges outside activities like rock climbing which helps to create a great social setting and is great for new visitors to become familiar with each other. The rooms are nice and are cleaned every day as properly as the community areas. All in all, a very pleasant stay at the Palms Backpackers.

Its great for meeting other travelers and it helped me settle into life in Australia right after arriving from Asia. It is also great because it has a kitchen so you can cook your own food, which is something I have missed lots since travelling!

If you&'re looking for a fuss-free lodging, I suppose The Palms will do as fine. At such attractive rates and central location (only 5 mins away from Kings Cross Station) it is not too hard to like the place. Granted, I was fortunate to meet fellow like-minded travellers along with the cleanness might be second rate but if what you need is a place to crash at $20 per night then this might be a steal.
