The property is very nice and nicely maintained and is located directly across from the Van Gogh museum. It is near the Rijks museum and there is certainly a shopping center one block away within the museumplex. It&'s downstairs under the slanted grass hill within the park. Walking to old town is easy. Just walk through the bicycle lanes within center of the Rijks museum and keep walking over the canals. You may get lost at first, but hey. it&'s Amsterdam! If you&'re lost within the city, don&'t panic. You can&'t go too far without eventually finding your way. Take the number 2 or 5 street cars and they&'ll take you right back to the Van Gogh. The food is nothing short of fantastic. Eat! Anything! Really! And for those of you who like COFFEE, There&'s no short supply. :). Amsterdam is certainly an eye opening experience, but one in which you&'ll return again and again. GO TO A MUSEUM! You&'ll miss out on a life experience if you don&'t go. Michael

Although it was a hostel, it rather looked like a hotel. Extremely contemporary and extremely clean. It&'s located in one of the extremely best neighbourhoods in Amsterdam, max 5 minute walking from the main party area, Leidseplein. And about 15 minute from the most incredible Jordaan.
