The conditions were not satisfying - the room was very small and certainly not cosy at all, the bad was not comfortable. in general - the hotel makes rather bad impression. However the staff was nice, and I liked the location. |

The rooms were dirty and the beds were back-breakingly soft (they changed the mattresses for us). It was not very safe: the hallway lights did not work and the front entrance door was repeatedly left open. The staff were very helfpul, but otherwise the only things I liked about it were the shower (good water pressure) and the coffee shop beneath where we could get a tasty reasonably priced breakfast. The location was also good, but there were definitely nicer, cheaper hostels available in Florence. |

It was cheap, BUT. was attacked by the worst bed-bugs ever. Was bitten in over 20 places, and when I woke up after the first night my eye was swollen shut by one bite. I showed some of the bites to the reception lady- she didn't seem to believe me until I took off my shades and showed her my eye. Then I asked for a new room; instead they came in, took out the old matress and replaced it with a new one. Then I got some more bites on the second night. |

The room had airconditioning, but it didn't work, so it was impossible to sleep here. Staff (especially one man) was really rude. Dormrooms are cheap and the location is good (close to the city centre), but didn't enjoy my stay here. Ended up leaving a day early and wouldn't recommend this hotel to other travelers. |

Only when we called the phone number of the hostel, somebody came to open us the door. The staff was not friendly. |

Check-in and breakfast is at Hotel Veneto; hence it is more convenient to stay at Veneto itself. Breakfast is bread, jam/butter, and coffee. Convenient location about 15 minutes walk from Firenze SMN, and another 15 minutes to Duomo, Uffizi, and other Florence attractions. The staff, especially the son of the owner, is somewhat rude. The worst part was that there is no air-conditioning or fans, which made it almost unbearable to sleep in August, especially if you got one of the two beds in the attic with no windows. |

On arrival, there was no one at the actual hostel, and after a phone call we were asked to go to the reception of another hotel nearby to arrange things. We ended up staying there (they didn't tell us what happened to the initial hostel anyway :p) and the rating is for that hotel (Veneto). We paid of course only what we had booked for. Breakfast was bad, but room was decent and cleaned every day. |
